you should be able to plot this by hand in about 15s but here.

Is there any particular reason that you can't simply do the graph using what you learned back in algebra?

First define the function in mathcad((CTRL ; ) \(\displaystyle f(x)\left| = \right.\text{if}( - 2 \le x \le 1,5x - 2,5)\)

Then insert a 2D graph area put x at the x-place holder and f(x) at the y-place holder.
Set the x-axis from -3 to 3 and the y-axis from -13 to 4.

Just incase you have forgoten the basics, You dont really need a software to plot a graph you can also do it online.

It looks very poor to me

We cannot teach you to use a piece of software. Sorry.
Also it has been at least eight years since I last used MathCad.
