in my homework i have a question that says: translate the triangle shown on the coodinate plane to the y axis

now the coordinates of the triangle are 1,-1, 5,-1, and 5,-3

how do i put the triangle on the y axis what does that mean which quadrant would it be in :?:

The y-axis is a line; a triangle is a shape. What does your book mean by asking you to "translate" a shape "to" a line...?

Does this mean the three points "(1, -1), (5, -1), and (5, -3)"...?

The "quadrants" are the four quarters of the plane, starting with Quadrant I (where x and y are both positive), and moving around anti-clockwise.
