I usually can find the answer to these kinds of problems but on a few I keep coming out with decimals with 7 places or more.

Here is one I am having a lot of trouble with.
x+8y=3
4x-2y=7

-4(x+8y)=3

-4x-32y=-12
4x-2y=7
------------------
-34y=-5
y=0.1470588

This can't be right can it? If you can find my mistake it sure would be helpful. Thankyou!

Yes, that is correct. Just plug it back in to see.

Now, that you have y, x falls into place. Good show :D

Except, leave your answers in fractions form. Looks better that way. Okey-doke?.

I guess so. I wasnt sure since my algebra teacher told us that we shouldn't come out with long decimals.
How would you find the fraction form of THAT?

Come on now.....You have it already. It is 5/34. All you did was convert it to a decimal. Right?.
