Hello,

I am solving just simple quadratics inequalities. I have factorized it.

It looks like this:
(2x+1/2) * (x - 1)

to get the solution.
1. Do i need to count the factors as an linear equations?
x - 1 => x = +1
and
2x + 1/2 = ??
I have a problem with this equation.

I counted it like this:
2x +1/2 = 0
2x = -1/2 / /2
x = -1

but my study book say the result is -1/2

but obviously if I can divide by multiplying by
inverted value the result is
-1/2 * 1/2 = -1/4

isnt it?

Thank you.

Where is the rest of the inequality? What was the original exercise statement? Everything that follows depends on this, so please do be complete. Thank you! ;)

oh thank you for your answer.you were right. actually the problem was a wrong factorization.
