This is a simple evaluation problem - plug-n-chug

x[sup:37xghwip]2[/sup:37xghwip] - 2x + 2

= (1+i)[sup:37xghwip]2[/sup:37xghwip] - 2(1+i) + 2

Now expand and continue....

HI thanks
I end up with the answer 4+2i but the book has a different answer

The answer should be 0.
