Evidently, you're not familiar with the Point-Slope Formula.
. . What have you been taught? .Just the Slope-Intercept form: . $\displaystyle y \,= \,mx + b$ ?

Find the an equation of a line through the point (2,5) with slope 1/2

We are given the slope: $\displaystyle m \,= \,\frac{1}{2}$
. . The equation (so far) is; .$\displaystyle y \,= \,\frac{1}{2}x + b$

Since $\displaystyle (2,5)$ is on the line, we have: $\displaystyle x = 2,\;y = 5.$

Plug those into our equation: . $\displaystyle 5 \;= \;\frac{1}{2}(2) + b\quad\Rightarrow\quad b = 4$

There! . . . The equation is: .$\displaystyle y \;= \;\frac{1}{2}x + 4$
