Factoring each Expressions

This kind of thing.

4g + 16 = 4(g +4)

16n^2 - 40n = 8n(2n -5)

Distribute to check!

Can you do the others?

Your doing algebra

Remove the highest common factor

4g + 16 = 4 *g + 4*4

HCF is 4

= 4(g +4)

16n squared - 40n = 2 * 8 *n * n - 5 * 8 * n

HCF is 8n

= 8n(2n -5)

You want to have a go at the others?

Ya, couple of small corrections only, nice!

2d- 6 = 2(d -3)

8a + 24 = 8(a +3)

f (squared)+2f = f(f + 2)

6 - 3j = 3(2 - j)

But I dont know what ^ means. Im in Pre-Algebra and I still dont get it
^ means square
Exp: 2^3 = 8 (2X2X2)
3^2 = 9 (3x3)

not quite ryan: ^ means "to the power";
2^3 means 2 to the power 3 (or 2 cubed)
2^2 means 2 to the power 2 (or 2 squared)

So, wildthing, as example, 3^4 = 3 * 3 * 3 * 3 = 81 : capish?
