Could anyone help me with the technique for factorising these-don't have a clue how to do it:

(p+1)^2 + 2(p+1)


and

(2q+3)^3+(2q+3)^2

Can you factorize:

x^2 + x

and

y^3 + y^2 ?

When you have no idea, then look at definitions!
(p+1)2 + 2(p+1) = (p+1)(p+1) + 2(p+1) = (p+1)(p+1) + 2(p+1). Can you factor from here?
