Hi All,

I'm doing exercices using a french website. One exercice asks to factorize the following expression: (2-x)²+(2-x)(9-x).
Considering the goal is to factorize the expression I calulcated thie way: (2-x) ((2-x)+(9-x)) = (2-x)(11-2x)
While the correction indicates: 4-4x+x²+18-2x-9x+x²=2x²-15x+22
According to me this correction is wrong because they devlopped the expression instead of factorizing it. Can you confirm me I'm right please?

Thanks!

If the assignment was (as you stated):

factorize the following expression:

then your interpretation is CORRECT.

You would distribute what you got to arrive at the solution given to you. You would factor the solution given to you to arrive at your answer.

You are correct and the solution given to you is wrong. Good job!
