Im looking at this data set, and wondering if there is a better way to find out average families ownership of slaves.
Families is found by dividing housholds into population, which gives a family size.
The individual slave owners is divided into families and yields a high value number of families owning slaves. Around 30% Because it asumes every individual is in a seperate family and no family can have more than 1 slave owner in it.
The individual slave owners divided into free population gives a much lower number. around 6%
So i have a range of values.
Is there method to find to place individual slave owners into families? and givea more acurate number than the low 6% and high 30%
