find eqn of tangent fcn with given period, vertical shift,

write an equation of the tangent function with the period 3pie/8, phase shift -pie/5, and vertical shift -2.

I am having problems with figuring out the phase shift and the period.
I know the period = 2pie/k so for the period I got 16/3
I know phase shift = -c/k but I'm not sure what to plug in
I'm very confused about the period and the phase shift it would help if someone could show me the process.
 
pi is the Greek letter ... pie is something you eat.

the period of the parent tangent function is pi, not 2pi.

so ...

for y = tan[B(x + C)] + D

B = (pi)/(3pi/8) = 8/3

C = -pi/5

D = -2
