Given real function of two variables: f(x, y) = x 2 + 2x cos y + 1 .
Find the local extrema of the function
 
Hello A.k. Is that supposed to be x^2 ?

cos y + 1
Is that supposed to be cos(y) + 1 ?

Hello Otis sorry it should be x²+2xcos(y)+1
and my problem is to find the critical point and other point if you could help i will be grateful.
