find the value of x so that triangle ABD is congruent to triangle DBC by the indicated therm or postulate
10. AB=2x BE=3x-1 BC=23 BD=5x-24 LL
11. AB=x + 6 AE=2x +13 BD=15 CD= 4x-5; HL

How would i solve these to find x i can set up but keep getting weird numbers do i just look at the ones with x's in it? Help!

With no diagram and not knowing what LL and HL means, it is difficult to help.

H stands for hypotenuese
A stands for angle
L stands for leg for the angle

HL & LL are postulates for right-angled-triangles. Your problem does not state anything about right angled triangle. Post the COMPLETE problem.
