Finding area of square inscribed in a circle

"pie" is for eating.
"pi" is for math.

What do you know of the diagonal of a square? How does that diagonal relate to the circle?
 
A square is inscribed in a circle with area \(\displaystyle 9 \pi\). What is the area of the square?
The area of a circle in \(\displaystyle \pi r^2\).
If a square is inscribed in a circle then then any diagonal of that square is a diameter of the circle.
One half the length of a diameter is the radius of the circle,

This reminds me of when I was studying algebra where we had a notation for rings without an identity. We called it rng.
