If $ax+by+c=0,~~a\cdot b\ne 0$ is a line its slope is $m=\frac{-b}{a}$ its $y\text{-intercept }$ is $\dfrac{-c}{a}$.
Now any line perpendicular to the given line has slope $\dfrac{-1}{m}$.
