Question: A box contains 3 yellow, 2 blue, and 4 red pencils. Suppose you choose a pencil from the box and choose another pencil without replacing the first one. Find the probability of choosing yellow, then blue.
My answer was 2/27 and was wrong..
The answers to choose from were: 1/7, 1/12, 2/27 or 5/17?
I'm confused.......

3/9*2/8 = 6/72= 1/12

Ok, please tell me how you got 2/27? Show me your work, so I can see where you went wrong.

I had the first figure wrong of 6/81 reduced to 2/27. Thats what I did wrong. Thanks for your help!
