I am trying to figure out how you find the next palindrome after 15,951?

I have a word problem and I understand how I would find the final answer but I am confused how I begin to find the next palindrome after 15,951? Could someone please lead me in the right direction?
 
Will there be any more in the fifteen-thousands? No? Then try the sixteen-thousands.

I don't think there's anything "deep" here; just play with the numbers and see what you can come up with.

I actually know that it is 16061 but I am wondering how to get to that number. I was thinking there might be a more mathematical way to get there. LOL!
