I am not sure if I'm doing this right:
The line through A (2,4) and B (3,y) is perpendicular to a line with slope 1/9. Find y.
I started by using point A and the negative reciprocal of 1/9, which is -9 to write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form- 4=-9(2) + b, then solved for b and got b=22.
Then used the same formula to solve point B:
y=-9(3)+22---> y=-5
Is that correct?
