What is the greatest decimal number formed from 2,0,6,5 ?
Is it 0.6520 or 0.6502 ?

Hello.

0.6520 contains 6,520 ten-thousandths

0.6502 contains 6,502 ten-thousandths

In other words, the first number contains 6,520 pieces, but the second number contains only 6,502 pieces.

All of the pieces are the same size (1/10000), so the number with the most is greatest.

Wouldn't 6520 be the biggest decimal number? What do you understand by a "decimal number"? Does that just mean "base ten" or are you using it to mean a number between 0 and 1?

Try to compute the follow two.
..0.6520
-0.6502

and

..0.6502
-0.6520.

One you can do and one you can't do. If you can do it, the top number is larger than the bottom number. if you can't do it it is because the bottom number is larger than the top number.
