I want to mix small batches of stucco.
It consists of the cement in a big bag and a color additive. The water does not matter at this point.

cement = 1 bag = 88lbs
color additive = 1 jar = 1 lb

the company states a full batch is 1 jar per 1 bag

What is your question?

The questionis I want to mix small batches like 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 so trying to understand the math to break that down.

You need a ratio of 1:88 by weight. So for every 89 units (ounces, grams, whatever) total, you need 1 unit of color and 88 units of cement.

Or, if the additive is dry, you might just mix a jar (thoroughly) into a bag, and add water when ready to use it.

Full Batch
cement = 1 bag = 88lbs
color additive = 1 jar = 1 lb

Divide each component by 2

Half Batch
cement = 1/2 bag = 44 lbs
color additive = 1/2 jar = 1/2 lb = 8 oz

Divide each component by 2

Quarter Batch
cement = 1/4 bag = 22 lbs
color additive = 1/4 jar = 4 oz

Divide each component by 2

Eighth Batch
cement = 1/8 bag = 11 lbs
color additive = 1/8 jar = 2 oz

It doesn't have to be fancy.

Of course, if you have to throw away the color additive after you open the jar, then it may be rather expensive to create the smaller batches.

What about if the water requirement is 1.5gal per 1 88lb bag (was not sure if the same formula (e.g. divide each by) would apply to liquids?

1/4 of a bag is 22 lbs, and 1/4 of a pound for your jar.
