Actually, the graph extends forever -- it's just your picture of it that doesn't. (That is, the graph of a function is theoretical, and you plot only some finite view of it.)

If your grid doesn't go as far as x=9, you don't need to plot it. But still, it should be obvious what quadrant (9,3) is in; both coordinates are positive, so it's in quadrant I, to the "east-northeast" of the last point you can plot.
