Questin number three is asking me to write a linear equation

3. A cab company advertises $0.45 per mile (or part of a mile) plus a $2.00 minimum charge. Based on this information, write a linear function that describes the price of a cab ride in terms of the miles travled. miles traveled = $0.45 + $2.00

4. If a customer travels a total of 25 miles, how much money will that customer owe the cab company in question 3? C(25) = 25(0.45)+ $2.00 = $13.45

5. The future of a population of a town t years after January 1, 1995 is described in thousands by function P(t) = 120 + 4t + 0.05t^2. Calculate of P(5) and explain what it means. P(5) = 120 + 4t + 0.05t^2,
P(5) = 120 + 20 + 1.25 = 14,125
It means that the future population of a town will be 14,125 after January 1, 1995

6. The gravitational force between two objects varies inversely as the square of the distance between the objects. If a force of 25 pounds results from two objects that are 6 miles apart, how much force results from two objects that are 15 miles apart? 25 = 6 = 4.166(15) = 62.5

7. The population of Windham is growing at an annual rate of 0.5%. If the current population 12,520, one function that can be used to predict the future population of Windham is P(t) = 12,520(1.005)^t where t represents times in years. Use this function to predict the population of Windham in 10 years. P(10) = 12,520(1.005)10
P(10) = 125,826

Okay... Um...

You've posted five exercises (along with some stuff at their ends which may be your answers...?) but have not asked an actual question. Are you wanting something checked? Are you needing lesson links on some topic? Or something else? :?:

Please reply with clarification, including a clear listing of everything you have tried for each exercise. Thank you! :D

I'm sorry I just wanted to check my answers on these problems, and yes those are my answers at the end. I wanted to know if im anywhere in the right area in answering these questions. :)

What linear function have you developed for this? (All I see is "$2.45" as your "answer"...?)

This value appears to be correct.

If "t" is the number of years after 1995, then on what basis are you saying that the value of P(5) give the population on or after 1995?

How does twenty-five equal six? How does six equal 62.5? What were your steps? What was your reasoning? What is your answer?

Why did the exponent become a factor? Does your answer seem reasonable?

Please reply with clarification. Thank you! :D

I have problems with this type of math

3. Y =x +b, Y = .45 + $2.00

5. P (t) = 120 + 4t + 0.05t^2. Calsulate the value of P (5) and explain what it means.
P (5) = 120 + 4 (5) + 0.05(5) ^2
P (5) = 120 + 20 + .25 ^ 2
P (5) = 120 + 20 + 625
P (5) = 765 is the population of a town

6. 30 pounds of force

7. I saw the problem with this one

P (t) = 12,520 (1.005)t = if the annual rate grows 0.5% annually
P (50) = 12520 * 5.025
P (50) = 62,913 is the population of Windham in 10 years.
I don't know if these are right but I am trying
