GED assistance #3

Hello, and thanks for all the help so far.
There are some more questions i want to review and understand how to figure out.
So lets keep moving forward.

So i had this question, and i try to solve it but can not figure out what the correct answer would be.
Im not sure the correct way to solve. Do i to -27 plus 8 and then try and the square root for -19 witch has only factors of 1,19 ?
Or do i find the square root fo -27 witch is 3√3 with a power of 3 on the square,(sorry duno what that little guy is called.) and then add the 8 wich give me 11? Im not going to try and continue with my ideas since i dont know, Hope you guys can help me.


Another problem i had was this one.
It wants me to find the the radius in order to make the volume 258.75
I tryed several possibility but just couldnt get a number to go in there, the decimal would be very large.
3.14 x (r) x (r) x 12.
3.14 x 12= 37.68
If i take 258.75 and divide by 37.68 it just makes me wonder if i am doing it correctly in the first place.
Since its not multiple choice i have no idea if i am doing it right or wrong.

Problem 1) - - -You are *not* working with square roots. You need much help with this
from somebody.



Problem 2)

Keep doing what you're doing.

If the instructions state to use 3.14 for pi in the problem, do that.

"...take 258.75 and divide by 37.68" Do that.

Take the square root of that result.

Round to the nearest tenth place.

Don't forget to write/type the units next to the number as part of your complete answer.
