Is "G" the same as "g"? (This is not standard mathematical practice, so please forgive the assumption, if incorrect.)

Does "cubed root of" mean "the cube root of"? (A "cubed root" would be the cube of a root, such as the cube of a square root. A cube root is the third root, such as" the third root of eight", which is two.)

Is the sign between the two function names, f and g, a "times" sign, or an open dot? That is, which of the following, if any, was meant by the asterisk you used?

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \mbox{a: }\, (f\, \cdot\, g)(x)\)

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \mbox{b: }\, (f\, \times\, g)(x)\)

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \mbox{c: }\, (f\, \circ\, g)(x)\)

Thank you! :D
