Graph this inequality...

I have 3x-3/2y<4

I have subtracted 3x from both sides.
that leaves me with -3/2y< 4/-3/2-3x/-3/2

I am stuck :?
Is this understandable the way I have it written out?
Can someone help me?

Thank you[/list]

Does the above mean any of the following?

. . . . .(3x - 3)/(2y) < 4

. . . . .3x - 3/(2y) < 4

. . . . .3x - (3/2)y < 4

Or something else?

I'm sorry, but I can't make heads or tails of this...?

When you reply, please use standard web-safe formatting, such as is explained in "Karl's Notes". Thank you.

OK...

Can someone tell me how to use STANDARD WEB-SAFE FORMATTING?

3x - (3/2)y < 4

This is what I am trying to explain

Thank you

This is what I am trying to explain
Can you solve "3x - (3/2)y = 4" for "y="? If so, use the exact same steps for this. Just remember that, if you multiply or divide through by a negative, you have to flip the inequality sign.

Note: You should end up with "y > (line)". Graph the (line). Since this is a strict inequality, the line will be dashed. Then shade everything to one side of the line. Hint: Since you want y "greater than" the (line), do you want above or below the line?

What objection do you have to the explanation you read in the "Karl's Notes" article (in the link, provided earlier)?

Please be specific. Thank you.

Karl's notes

I have no objection to Karl's notes. I have opened my e-mail several times but it only gives me your response. I appreciate your time. Thank you

First remove fractions: 6x-3y<8.
Graph the line 6x-3y=8. Make it ‘dashed’ because of <.
Decide what side of the line to shade.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand. I haven't sent you any e-mail. I only provided the replies as displayed within this thread. And to post your replies, you had to return to this thread and click, right?

So return to this thread, scroll to my first reply, click on the link to the article, and read the Notes.
