Problem:
Given the parabola: X^2 = 12y

Find the vertex, focus, and the equation of the directrix.

My question:
I don't know if I am doing this right so can you please check my awnser? Thank
you!

WORK DONE :

standard form: Y= (x^2)/(12)

vertex = (0,0)

Focus = (0,1)

equation of directrix = Y= -11/12

The standard form of a vertical parabola is

\(\displaystyle \L x^2 \, = \, 4py\)

where \(\displaystyle p\) is the distance from the vertex to the focus. The directrix is a distance \(\displaystyle p\) from the vertex opposite the focus.
