can anyone solve:

12-2x

x^2 +x-30

i thought i knew the answer but this answer key told me differently....

Please show what you have tried so far.


As this is not an equation we cannot solve, but we can simplify.
Start by factoring: 12-2x = 2(6-x); x^2 +x-30 = (x+6)(x-5); 2x-10 = 2(x-5)
You need common denominators before you can combine terms.
The LCD will be 2(x-5)(x+6).
Can you take it from here?
