Hello

To hire a tutor local to your area, you would need to contact agencies in that area; for instance, your local high school's guidance office or math office, or your local university's math department, may be able to make recommendations. Depending upon your level of study, your local Kumon Centre may also be able to serve your needs.

Note: Mathnerds volunteers can help students work through specific exercises, but this assistance requires that the student has at least some grasp of the underlying materials. It is simply not reasonably feasible to attempt, within this environment, to provide the hours of instruction necessary to provide that foundational underpinning. For those in "serious" need of one-on-one instruction, hiring a qualified local tutor, and setting aside a few hours a week for face-to-face lessons, is almost certainly the best option (other than enrolling in a class).

My best wishes to you in your studies! :D

Eliz.
