I need help on this question. FIrst I will type it out, then I will write it out in words:

sec^2X/sec^2X-1=csc^2X

sectant squared times X divided by sectant squared X minus one equals cosectant squared times X

Thanks for your help!

What are the instructions? Are you solving? If so, on what interval? Or are you proving (or disproving) an identity?

Also, your formatting is ambiguous, but I think you mean the following:

. . . . .sec2(x) / [sec2(x) - 1] = csc2(x)

Please reply with confirmation or correction. When you reply, please include the instructions, along with a clear listing of the steps you have tried thus far.

Thank you.

Eliz.

You should recognise the identity in the denominator to simplify the LHS.

And, in words, sec^2(x) is actually: the secant of x, squared.
