The room measures 193" by 138" and the carpet tiles are 19.5" squares. And, if you would, please let me know how to find the number?

To cover 193" side - you would need 10 tiles.

To cover 138" side - you would need 8 tiles.

So you would need (10 * 8 =) 80 tiles - maximum.

However, you'll have excess carpet. You could cut a single block to cover multiple gaps. That depends on your requirements.

You can also divide the total area, 193*138 in^2, by the area of one tile, 19.5^2 in^2, to find the minimum number of tiles you might be able to use by cutting up pieces. That turns out to be 71 (because of rounding up). What you really need will probably be between that and 80.

Yeah, it seems the total can definitely fluctuate based on whether or not I'm willing to cut at the four ends of the room so that the sizes are symmetrical. Thanks again!
