How did you calculate the value of 'w'?

Let y=-16 and solve the quadratic equation, i got x=-1 and 9. Hence w=-1 according to the diagram.

How should i proceed to find h? Any clues?

w = -1 is correct.

I do not see a way to "locate" point H or point G from the given data.

Was there any explanation for the "hatched" sections?
