here's the problem and how i worked it:
4x-[5-6(4-x)]=13-(3x-5)
4x-5=24-x=13-3x+5
4x+3x-x=13+5+5+24
6x=46
x=46/7

where did i go wrong?

Let's see...

4x-[5-6(4-x)]=13-(3x-5)
4x-[5-24+6x]=13-(3x-5)
4x-[-19+6x]=13-(3x-5)
4x+19-6x=13-(3x-5)
19-2x=13-(3x-5)
19-2x=13-3x+5
19-2x=18-3x
19+x=18
x=-1
Check
4(-1)-[5-6(4-(-1))]=13-(3(-1)-5)
-4-[5-6(4-(-1))]=13-(3(-1)-5)
-4-[5-6(4+1)]=13-(3(-1)-5)
-4-[5-6(5)]=13-(3(-1)-5)
-4-[5-30]=13-(3(-1)-5)
-4-[-25]=13-(3(-1)-5)
-4+25=13-(3(-1)-5)
21=13-(3(-1)-5)
21=13-(-3-5)
21=13-(-8)
21=13+8
21=21 -- Exactly what we had hoped!!

Looks like you lost your '6' right up front.
Your '24' switched sides without changing signs.
You forgot how to add. All those numbers are '47'.
In your last step, '6' changed into '7'.

OK, you're either messing with us or you're really just not ready for this sort of thing. Don't try to do more than one piece at a time. You managed 4 errors in 4 steps, gettign to the wrong conclusion. I took 20 steps and obviously was MUCH more careful.

Guessing at the = typo you probably meant
4x-[5-6(4-x)]=13-(3x-5)
4x-5-24-x=13-3x+5
I would suggest doing one () at a time.
4x-[5-24+6x}=13-3x+5
4x-5+24-6x=13-3x+5
Can you take it from there?
