Can anyone please tell me how to write 8x5=40 six ways??

I've come up with four:

8x5=40 5x8=40 40 divided by 5 equals 8 and 40 divided by 8 equals 5

THanks in advance :?

How about these?

2*(4*5)

4*(2*5)

5*(4*2)

10*4

1*40

Perhaps I'm oversimplifying this....

Hello, braxmade!

Can anyone please tell me how to write \(\displaystyle 8\,\times\,5\:=\:40\) six ways??

I've come up with four:

\(\displaystyle 8\,\times\,5\:=\:40,\;5\,\times\,8\:=\:40,\;40\,\div\,5\:=\:8,\;40\,\div\,8\:=\:5\)
Since \(\displaystyle \,8\,\times\,5\;=\;40\,\) means "eight 5's are 40",
\(\displaystyle \;\;\)How about: \(\displaystyle 5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\;=\;40\)

Since \(\displaystyle \,8\,\times\,5\:=\:5\,\times\,8\), we have "five 8's are 40",
\(\displaystyle \;\;\)Hence: \(\displaystyle \,8\,+\,8\,+\,8\,+\,8\,+\,8\:=\:40\)
