Can anyone please tell me how to write 8x5=40 six ways??

I've come up with four:

8x5=40 5x8=40 40 divided by 5 equals 8 and 40 divided by 8 equals 5

"Fact families" usually come in the set of four that you've already listed. What does your book/class give as the other two ways? (Providing an example from your text would be very helpful.)

Since \(\displaystyle \,8\,\times\,5\;=\;40\,\) means "eight 5's are 40",
\(\displaystyle \;\;\)How about: \(\displaystyle 5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\,+\,5\;=\;40\)

Since \(\displaystyle \,8\,\times\,5\:=\:5\,\times\,8\), we have "five 8's are 40",
\(\displaystyle \;\;\)Hence: \(\displaystyle \,8\,+\,8\,+\,8\,+\,8\,+\,8\:=\:40\)
