Hi guys,

My friend and I are disagreeing on a maths question and I need your help.

The scenario is that we have 28 items worth 300xp each.
When each item is used and disappears you will always receive 300xp , so 8,400xp is guaranteed no matter what.
However there is a 50% chance for each individual item that it will not disappear but you will still receive the 300xp.
If that happens you are then able to try again with the item indefinitely for the same xp until it eventually disappears (with a 50% chance each time).

I think percentage wise that there is roughly a 100% increase on the 28 items at 300xp each, so once the re rolls are taken in to account instead of receiving 8,400xp you would receive (on average) 16,800xp.

He thinks percentage wise it would be definitely over a 100% increase on the 28 items at 300xp each, so once the re rolls are taken in to account instead of receiving 8,400xp you would receive more than 16,800xp

Please help us to decide if it would be probability wise 100% or if it would be more than that... (or if we are both wrong!)

Thanks,

Goose
