When you solve an equation of any type, why is it important to check your solution by substituting the solution or solutions into the original problem?

Can you think of any additional reasons why this process of checking the solution or solutions against the original problem might be particularly applicable to problems involving logarithmic or exponential equations?

Don't you check any and all solutions you find by seeing if they work in the original statements?
If you do not, then that says a lot about you.
