okay so I've tried doing these problems so many times! my book isn't explaining krap about dilation maps!!!!
so i need help with these two questions:

A dilation maps triangleXYZ to X'Y'Z'.
1.) XY=42cm, YZ=35cm, and XZ=56cm. If X'Y'=18cm, find the lengths of the other two sides and the scale factor.

2) XY=15in., YZ=24in., and XZ=18in. If X'Z'=30in., find the lengths of the other two sides and the scale factor.

Hi isu23pink,

The scale factor is the ratio of any two corresponding sides.

\(\displaystyle \frac{XY}{X'Y'}=\frac{42}{18}=\frac{7}{3}=\frac{35}{Y'Z'}=\frac{56}{X'Z'}\)

Solve for the missing sides. Use the same method for number 2.
