What is the meaning of "In"? (I've heard of "ln", pronounced "ell-enn", being the "natural log", but not "In".) What is the meaning of the pair of numbers, "5,9"? Is this meant to be an ordered pair? What were the instructions? What are you supposed to be doing?

I will make two assumptions here. 1st is that you meant ln and not In and 2nd 5.9 and not 5,9.

If A* ln(y) =B then ln(y) = B/A. Using the definition of ln, solve for y (or 2x+7). Then solve for x
