I hope this is the right section for Ratio related question.

Need help with a silly childish math problem ( I assure you I am a grownup person)

Lets say there are 6 people who took a lottery ticket costing 350 dollars

PersonContribution
A100
B100
C50
D50
E25
F25

Lets say they hit the Jackpot of 1000 dollars ,
So the question is , how would the USD 1000 dollars be split among everyone based on their contribution ?.

Since all the contributions are multiples of 25, I would use that information.

Person A gets 4 parts (25*4=100) of the money (ie the $1000)
Person B gets 4 parts of the $1000
Person C gets 2 parts of the $1000
Person D gets 2 parts of the $1000
Person E gets 1 parts of the $1000
Person F gets 1 parts of the $1000

In the end the $1000 gets divided by 14.

So person A gets 4*(1000/14)
...
Person C gets 2*(1000/14)
...

If you want to split the cost of the lottery ticket evenly among the 6 people, you can divide the total cost by the number of people:

350 / 6 = 58.33

Each person would need to contribute approximately $58.33 towards the lottery ticket.

If you want to split the cost unequally based on each person's contribution or share, you would need to determine the percentage or amount each person is responsible for and calculate their contribution accordingly. For example, if two people contributed $100 each and four people contributed $50 each, the total contribution would be $300 + $200 = $500. You could then calculate each person's share by dividing their contribution by the total contribution and multiplying by the total cost:

Person 1: ($100 / $500) x $350 = $70 Person 2: ($100 / $500) x $350 = $70 Person 3: ($50 / $500) x $350 = $35 Person 4: ($50 / $500) x $350 = $35 Person 5: ($50 / $500) x $350 = $35 Person 6: ($50 / $500) x $350 = $35

Person 1 and Person 2 would contribute $70 each, while Person 3, Person 4, Person 5, and Person 6 would contribute $35 each towards the lottery ticket.
