A window has the shape of a square surmounted by a semicircle. The base of the window is measured as having width 60cm with a possible error in measurement of 0.1 cm. Use differentials to estimate the maximum error possible in computing the area of the window.

The square is 2r by 2r
The semi circle is .5*pi*r^2
A=(4+.5*pi)*r^2
dA=(4+.5*pi)*2*r*dr
r=30
dr=.05
dA=(4+.5*pi)*2*30*.05=+16.7 cm²
