curt budgets 3/7 of his monthly income for housing and 1/4 for food what fraction of his monthly income will he have remaining?
I know that he uses 19/28 for his housing and food, but how do i figure his monthly income?

I think I figured it out
19/28= 67.85 percent of his income
32.15 percent is remaining of his income 67.85+32.15=100
which converted to 32 and 3/20

These are two different questions.

Do you want to find the remaining fraction OR do you want to find the whole?

If you want to find the remaining fraction, then subract 19/28 from 1.
