# how much a ratio goes up by

i have a maths question that i need to answer so i can continue with my project.

if 11 goes to 0.75 (11 : 0.75)

and 22 goes to 1.5 (22 : 1.5)

what would 12 go to?? (12 : ?)

It appear the output is $$\displaystyle \frac{3}{44}$$ of the input, of:

$$\displaystyle f(x)=\frac{3}{44}x$$

Hence:

$$\displaystyle f(12)=\frac{3}{44}\cdot12=\frac{9}{11}$$

Another way to get at it:

11/(0.75) = 12/x .......................................(here : is like division)

x = 12* 0.75/11 = 9/11
