how do you determine something is a function???

i-5=u2

And how do you find out if a function is odd, even or neither????

f(x)= - 5x (cubed) + 6x

f(x) = x, as an example, is a function, because we can put in any number x, and always get out one value for f(x): For every input, there is one and only one output.

Determining even/odd functions:
even: f(–x) = f(x)
odd: f(–x) = –f(x)
