The Instruction is the Simply "Simplify the problems", its my homework problem and I can't solve it.....How you solve,

Since there is no equation (nothing with an "equals" sign in it), there is nothing to "solve". Since you were apparently not given any value for "x", there is no way to "evaluate" and get any particular numerical value. Since this exercise apparently did not have any instructions, I'm afraid there is no way for anybody to know how "they" arrived any any particular answer. Sorry.
