A manufacture has received complaints that aging production equipment is forcing workers to work overtime in order to mee production quota. Historically, the average hours worked per week at the company is normally distirbuted, with a mean of 40 hours and a standard deviation of 7.5 hours. If the sample of 30 workers found an average of 40 hours, conduct a hypothesis test to determine if there is significant evidence (at 5% level of significance) that the lenght of the average work week has increased.
state the hypothesis, test statistics, conclusion(accepting or rejecting) and answer the question.

What I need to know is if the sample mean will be 40 or 45. I have worked the problem out both ways, which means that the other will be the hypothesis mean. Thanks for the help

I'm assuming that second 40 shoudl be a 45?

\(\displaystyle \frac{45-40}{\frac{7.5}{\sqrt{30}}}\)
