An inverted cone with side length 4m is placed on top of the sphere with radius root 2 m so that the centre of its base is 0.5m above the center of the sphere.

-The surface area of the sphere is 8 pi m^2.
-The radius of the cone is (root7) / 2 m
-The area of the curved surface of the cone is 2*root7*pi m^2.

What are the exact dimensions of a box that could precisely fit the cone connected to the sphere?

The answer is root7 * root7 * 1 but I don’t know how to get it?

Hello. This exercise is very similar to your other thread. Can you show any work at all?

?

Both exercises have been posted at Yahoo Answers (each at the same time they were posted here).

Hmm yeah I haven’t been able to get very far with this question. I’ve had a lot of help with the first three parts (don’t points) but I’m still having some trouble with the last part.. All I can think of is that the inverted cone is inside the sphere and the box we are supposedly to get has the same height as the cone.. Thank you so much though!
