I know that the formula for this problem is s=r(theta) but every answer I type it says it's incorrect so I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.

Hi hmp40. The arc length formula requires radian measure. Convert 43º to radians, first.

The total circumference is 2pi*31 miles which is about (heavy rounding) 2*3*31miles = 186 miles. Your answer of 1333 miles is clearly wrong. Stop believing what your calculator tells you. Think about what the answer should be near which is a bit more than 186 miles!

Equivalently, from another perspective, you could also view 43° as a fraction.
Thus, (43/360)*circumference.
