My teacher tried to help me, but no matter what she did I don't seem to understand it.
I'm given the equation 5/(x) - 1/(3x) / 1/(3x) + 3/(2x) and it says simplify.
I know I need an LCD, but I need a good explanation of how to do this?

Have you posted that correctly, or should it be:
[5/(x) - 1/(3x)] / [1/(3x) + 3/(2x)]
