The following diagram shows part of the graph of f with x-
intercept (5, 0) and y-intercept (0, 8).
(a) Find the y-intercept of the graph of
(i)
(ii)
f(x) + 3
f(4x)
.
(b) Find the x-intercept of the graph of f(2x)

Equation of f?

I like this version. [math]\dfrac{x}{5} + \dfrac{y}{8} = 1[/math]

For each of the three transformed functions, think about what transformations they represent, and carry out that transformation on the graph in order to answer the question. You probably don't need to find an equation for the given graph.

In order to help you effectively, we need to see where you are having trouble. Telling us the transformations you are using, and/or showing us your graphs (starting with the one they gave you) will help us help you.
