What does this mean:

Identify as a linear function, identity function, constant function, quadratic function, or power function: f(x) = x^4

What are all of these terms and where do I start?

Thanks guys and gals!

One would customarily start with the definitions.

. . . . .constant: f(x) = b; b constant
. . . . .linear: f(x) = mx + b; m and b constants
. . . . .quadratic: f(x) = ax2 + bx + c; a, b, c constants
. . . . .power: f(x) = a xb; a, b constants

Where these function types not defined in your book and/or class...?

Thank you.

Eliz.
