A good place to start is with the algebra you learneed before you started calculus. You have been given a piecewise function, and have been asked to evaluate a function composition.
You are starting with f(-1). When x = -1, which rule for f(x) applies? What value is then output? This is your new input, for f(f(-1)).
You are now working with this new input x-value. For this new value, which rule for f(x) applies? What value is then output? This is your second new input, for f(f(f(-1))).
Now repeat, to complete the exercise. If you get stuck, please reply showing where you are getting stuck in the algebra. Thank you!
